A seasonal closet, whether it is spring/summer or fall/winter lets you organize your clothes and accessories so everything you wear the most is easily found and easily put back.
Here is how we do it:
First, we rip the guts out. We can use contractors to build/customize each closet to get it exactly the way you want it.
Second, we decide what the clothing needs are. This client likes flip-flops so we put in an over-the-door hanger to provide sections for all shoes.
Third, there are less shirts and pants for the summer so not as much space is allocated for these. Notice we use the same hangers for everything so they hang evenly. Pants are organized by length. We start with capris and go all the way to long pants. Same with tops – sleeveless to long sleeves.
Fourth, Mini-dresses go above the dresses. Both these sections are wider because in the summer, the client wears mostly dresses and short skirts.
Fifth, we have a shoe section and all the shoes are aligned with left heel out and right toe forward.
Last, we organize the client’s shorts by length.
Fall/Winter closet
You can customize closets however you want. You can use wood, metal or a combination of materials. We can match shelving, space to your exact needs.
This is a good to time purge. Why keep a size 14 if you if you are now a size 6.
We put up hooks on the closet door to hang belts and hats that are worn a lot so they are easily found.
Pants and skirt section is larger in fall/winter because it is cold.
Cubbies can be used for winter outer wear – hats, gloves, scarves.
